Volunteers
Habitat West Bay and Northern RI is a 100% volunteer organization. We welcome people from all walks of life to join us as we build simple, decent, affordable homes. Volunteers are the backbone of everything that we do! Whether you are an individual looking for gratification while learning new skills or part of a team coming out for a Team Build Day, we need help to keep many aspects of our affiliate running smoothly.
Though the vast majority of volunteers have no construction experience or building skills, volunteers are involved in most phases of construction. By working side-by-side with the family who will live in the house, our volunteers experience for themselves the joy created when a family is able to realize their dream of home ownership.
Habitat volunteers contribute more than muscle. There are many non-construction ways that volunteers can help. Creativity, strategy, and technical skills are among the many invaluable traits' volunteers bring to the organization. With no paid staff, we depend upon volunteers and committees.
We need help with
Habitat West Bay and Northern R.I. would not be a reality if it were not for the many volunteers working together toward our common goal of eliminating poverty housing in the communities we serve.
We invite volunteers to help us build, serve on committees, and help with special projects that benefit the organization. Time commitments vary; some volunteers dedicate many days of the week and others spend just a few hours each month working on projects. As a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, West Bay and Northern R.I. you can choose to volunteer as little or as often as you would like. All of these positions are a tremendous help that directly or indirectly result in the construction of simple, decent homes. Please contact us and share with us the ways in which you would like to help or fill out this online form and we will contact you to see you can help!
A good way to learn more about us is to attend a Board Meeting or visit the construction site.
