Welcome to our 6th Annual Rolling for Homes  and our 30th Anniversary!

Started in 2015 by Habitat International, The Veteran Build program was created as a way to engage returning soldiers coming home to help reintegrate them back into society.  For those looking for a new mission and purpose, Habitat may be what you are looking for. It's a chance to learn to skills, network, and build among people in your own neighborhood.

The program is also designed to provide critical home repairs for those who can not afford to do the work themselves. We partner with Corporations like The Home Depot Foundation, Owens Corning, Whirlpool and others to help with some of these repairs. Work is only done on a primary home that will not be sold within 1 year. a DD214 is required showing honorable or general discharge.

The opportunity for home ownership is also available to those  who are willing to partner with us.  We provide a hand up, not a hand out. Applicants must meet certain income guidelines, show they have the ability to pay a 0%-low interest rate mortgage and be able to put in 300 hours of sweat equity into the build of their home or other volunteer opportunities.

This year, 2022 funds raised will go to build a ranch duplex in Burrillville for 2 veterans or active active military and their families.  Both units will have 2 bedrooms and 1 ADA compliant bath with walk in shower. Open kitchen living area and ramps. Applicants will have some say in colors, flooring, etc.  The cost to build a home has gone up 30% over the past year due to covid, closed warehouses, shipping problems and strong housing demand.   Your help is needed!
